Organic SEO

It is important to understand Organic SEO and what I can and cannot do for you regarding that.

For your website to start coming up in the search engine results you have to put some time and effort into it.

Think of the keywords you want people to search for to find your website. If you sell candy, for instance, you will not be able to get the search engine results for just “candy” because there are a lot more established businesses that will come up before you in the search results. There are ways to find out which keywords would work for you by adding up to a total of a 4-word keyword phrase. Example: Rather than just “candy” change it to Old Fashioned English Toffee if that is what you are selling. (There are places online to test for the best keywords)

Yoast SEO

This is what Yoast SEO has to say:

“Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the profession that attempts to optimize sites to make them appear in a high position in the organic search results. Organic search results mean that these results aren’t sponsored. A search engine algorithm determines the rankings of organic search results.

Although Google’s algorithm remains secret, a decade of experience in our view, the ranking factors in Google’s algorithm can be divided into two categories.

  1. There are on-page factors that decide the ranking of your website. These factors include technical issues (e.g. the quality of your code) and content issues (e.g. the structure of your site and texts, or readability).
  2. There are off-page factors. These factors include links from other websites, social media attention, and other marketing activities outside your own website.”

I use Yoast SEO on my websites. It helps me on the backend of the site to determine what works best regarding keywords and copy content.

However, you will need to provide information about your business with the keywords used in them. Whether you write it up yourself or hire a copywriter to write it, it does not matter.  When you are finished with it, I can check for grammatical errors and tweak its content with the right amount of keywords incorporated into it, along with any links.

When the site is finished I will send out the website to the main search engines and list it in my Google Search Central account. If any problems arise, where a page cannot be indexed for some reason, they send me an email detailing how to fix it.

Social Media

It is always good to have at the least, a Business Facebook page and post on it regularly. I can then put that link right on the website. There are also many other social media platforms out there. Examples: LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram.

If you were to hire a marketing company, this is what they would do for you but it would cost quite a bit of money.
